Loraas RECYCLING/GARBAGE Residential Pick-up
The Town of Assiniboia offers a BI-WEEKLY single stream recycling/garbage pick-up done by Loraas Disposal. Households receive one 95 gallon blue recycle bin in which all approved household recyclable can be placed and one 95 gallon grey garbage in which all approved bagged household garbage can be placed.
The Town is set up as EAST side or WEST side pick up to establish the BI-WEEKLY pick-up schedule for residents. Please see the following schedule for your pick-up:
Please ensure your recycling/garbage bins are out on the street adjacent to your property the night before collection day or by 7:00 am on the day of collection. Please ensure the placement of your bin on the street provides an unabstructed pathway for pick-up; away from parked cars, trailers or recreational vehicles. Bins are to be removed from the street on the same day of pick-up.
Recycling (Blue) Bin
- CAN ACCEPT cardboard, boxboard, office paper, newsprint, junk mail, magazines and catalogues, shredded paper in clear bags, plastic containers, plastic milk jugs, milk and juice cartons, tin, aluminum and glass.
- ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED clamshell containers #1, oil containers, or chemical jugs, lightbulbs, plastic bags and stretch wrap, wood and metal scrap, diapers, styrofoam and plastic utensils, hoses and rubber items, toys and clothing, food and garbage.
Garbage (Grey) Bin
- CAN ACCEPT bagged household garbage only. Bagged grass clippings can also be put in your grey bin should you not have a way to transport to the landfill.
- Please ensure all garbage is bagged and the bin is NOT OVERFLOWING.
- ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED lumber or construction material, metal or any item sticking out of the bin. The bin lid MUST be able to close in order for Loraas to pick it up.
Commercial Garbage pick-up is also picked up by Loraas Disposal. Please call the Town Office (306) 642-3382 for information regarding setting up this service for your business.
