April 22nd Update
WOW, Just WOW Assiniboia!!
As of today, we have received donations to purchase 240 shirts! We were able to dress the entire AES school, now we are working towards dressing the 7th Ave School. Only 121 shirts left to sponsor before all of the 7th Avenue kiddos are dressed!
We have had numerous businesses dress their staff, and individuals picking up shirts for themselves. Please visit Ashley in Timothy Daniels to place your order or leave a donation. You can donate a single shirt for $25 or as many as you would like, an entire classroom donation is $750.
Thank you for your support Assiniboia, we are Better Together!!
Join us in a new exciting initiative that we are bringing to our Community. This initiative is called, “Better Together”. This initiative began in North Battleford in 2018 after a large number of suicides devastated their community. A group of grieving individuals joined together to find a way to bring comfort to one another and to find a way to reach out to the Community letting them know that they are not alone. Together they came up with the Better Together t-shirt project.
These T-shirts are $25 each and are worn every Tuesday, as Better Together Tuesday. The t-shirts all have a picture on them as well as the words 'better together'. These pictures are milk and cookies, peanut butter and jam, salt and pepper, or bacon and eggs. The shirts range in every size, from newborn sleepers to adult sizes. On Tuesday when you walk the streets of these communities, everyone is wearing their Better Together t-shirt or hoodie. So far in Assiniboia we have the Town Council and staff, RCMP members, Southland Co-op employees and members of our Faith Community taking part in this initiative and Timothy Daniels clothing store has graciously agreed to be our distributor.
Please consider purchasing shirts for your staff, or by sponsoring a classroom in one of our 3 Assiniboia Schools. We have 525 children enrolled, and we would love to see them all wearing a better together t-shirt on Tuesdays.
