About the Centre

The Prince of Wales Cultural & Recreation Centre (POW) was built in 2001 through extensive community fundraising led by the Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association. This 62,000 sq. ft. multi‑use facility is home to cultural events, recreation, entertainment, and essential community services.

The Centre features the Conexus Community Auditorium, complete with a fully equipped commercial kitchen and a dedicated bar area — ideal for weddings, conferences, concerts, and large gatherings.

POW also includes several meeting rooms and flexible spaces available for rent, making it the perfect venue for celebrations, workshops, business functions, and community events.

Assiniboia Curling Club

Located inside the Prince of Wales Centre, the Assiniboia Curling Club is a spacious four‑sheet facility opened in November 2001.

The club features seating for approximately 1,000 spectators — including 700 along Sheet One and an additional 300 in the main lobby and lounge. The Assiniboia Curling Club is a proud member of Curl Sask.

Assiniboia & District Public Library

The Palliser Regional Library – Assiniboia Branch occupies 5,000 sq. ft. on the southeast corner of the Centre.
