At the May 4th Council meeting, Council approved COVID-19 financial considerations in an effort to assist during this time. The Town will be reversing the charges for the Infrastructure fee of $30.00 month and Administration fee $10.80 month on four months of utility billings for both businesses and residential. Also, there will be no interest charged on utilities, taxation and other accounts receivables from May until the end of September. These financial considerations are valued at an approximate total of $211,000.
CURBSIDE COMPOST PROGRAM CHANGES
Compost pick up has changed. In 2020 changes were made to have the program run in late April and May and then start up again in October /November.
The program will NOT have pick ups in June, July, August or September.
It will be starting up again on October 1 on the West side and October 8 on the East side. Running every other Thursday after your recycling day. Ending with the last day of pick up on November 12 for the entire town.
The Town has placed a bin to collect dropped off compost by the entrance of the Compost Site located on Leeville Street North (717 Grid)
This area is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for compost dropoff. It is the intention to continue to have the compost site gate locked to ensure we do not have dumping of garbage which has been a past problem when the gate was left open. We thank those citizens who are choosing to bring their grass, leaves, fruit/vegetable waste and garden waste to the site. PLEASE NO WEEDS.
