Saskatchewan in motion is a province-wide movement aimed at increasing physical activity for health, social, economic and environmental benefits. To keep it simple, our purpose is to help people move more!
Our vision is that the people of Saskatchewan will be the healthiest, most physically active in Canada.
Our goal is to get kids moving!
A Shared Responsibility
According to Canada's Guide for Healthy Active Living, children and youth require a minimum of 60 to 90 minutes of physical activity every day. Saskatchewan in motion inspires, galvanizes and connects a provincial movement of educators, parents, caregives and community leaders to increase opportunities for just 30 minutes of physical activity at home, at school and in the community.
In motion blends provincial, regional and local resources with strong community leadership. The movement is guided by the Saskatchewan in motion Strategic Development Council, comprised of the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association, Sask Sport Inc., University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association and community leaders in health and education.
Additional partnerships with stakeholders and communities ensure the movement continues to develop and grow to support the full participation of all Saskatchewan children and youth. Saskatchewan in motion is supported by the Community Initiatives Fund as part of a commitment to a sustainable future for Saskatchewan people.
